A preventive maintenance plan (maintenance schedule) is a document or a set of activities that must be performed in the right time and quality to proactively maintain the property or asset in order to prevent failure or other problems.
The maintenance schedule therefore defines what, when, and how it must be done. The execution date is then crucial for the correct planning of activities.
- when the maintenance activity should be performed
- who should perform it
Further information then follows from the maintenance procedure
- how it should be done (in accordance with the working procedure and instructions)
- what is needed to perform the maintenance (what tools, materials, or spare parts are needed)
How to create a maintenance plan
You create maintenance plans using activity plans.
- Go to the record in which you want to set the maintenance plan and select any device, machine or other item for which you want to set the maintenance plan
- Open the "Activity Plans" tab
- Press the "Add activity type" button
- Name the type of maintenance to be performed, select the recurrence period, and then press the "Save" button
- Press the "Schedule" button
- Enter the last maintenance date, notification interval, any note, and who will be notified. Press "Save"
Once you've compiled all the maintenance operations for your property and the frequency, you'll have a maintenance schedule with reminders set for when things need to be done.
