Planning Employee Onboarding
Once you decide to hire a job applicant, you need to plan and execute a series of steps to ensure the employee adapts to the workplace. This process includes activities before, during, and just after onboarding. We recommend breaking down the activities as follows:
- Pre-onboarding checklist (Before the employee starts)
- Onboarding checklist
What options do you have for planning employee onboarding
You can set up onboarding activities either for all employees, for a specific position, or individually for a specific employee
- For all means that the onboarding activity will be created for all employees
- For job positions means that the onboarding activity will be created for the job position. If you want to set up for a different job position, select the correct job position from the list and save it, the activity will only appear for employee cards that have that job position assigned.
- For this item only means that the onboarding activity will only be created for the selected employee
The vast majority of onboarding activities will be set up as a one-time activity
How to create an employee onboarding checklist
- Go to Employees organizer
- In it, select any employee
- Go to the "Activity Plans" tab, on this page, you have the option to create any activities using activity plans
- Select "Create Activity"
- Name the employee's onboarding activity according to your conventions
- Select who the onboarding activity applies to - either it is for all employees, for the selected position, or only for the selected employee
- If you have created activity groups, select the correct group
- Save the activity
Repeat the procedure, when you have all activities set, you'll have the onboarding plan list complete.
How to schedule an employee onboarding activity plan

- Enter the date by which the activity should be completed
- Save
Once the activity is completed, you can use the Confirm button to mark it as done.
