Create and use strong passwords
A strong and secure password is a password that is difficult to guess, crack or break by technical means. Strong passwords are vital to good online security.
Basic rules for creating a strong and secure password
- password should be 8-12 characters long
- password should contain uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers
- avoid familiar words and obvious combinations (123456, password 123, etc.)
- avoid easy-to-guess words associated with you or your organization
- avoid using your personal data, name or other personal information (Names of family members, etc.)
- the password should not be any familiar word, and certainly not associated with you
- don't use the same password for multiple accounts
- do not reuse passwords
- you should remember the password
Never send your passwords via email
When you create a strong password, you should also protect it, otherwise its strength is of no use to you. Do not share passwords, store them in a safe place, preferably using a password manager.
