What is career ladder

Career ladder describes the progression of particular job position from entry level to higher levels. Levels on career path differs by skills, responsibility, work experience and pay. Along with career path the career ladder is one of the traditional methods by which an employee can develop and progress within a company. Steps on a career ladder usually represent seniority levels, which means experience. 

Employees move up on internal career ladders through internal promotions.
