What are Maintenance Costs?

Maintenance costs are the ongoing expenses needed to keep your equipment and facilities in good working condition. Unlike major upgrades (capital expenditures), maintenance doesn't increase the value of the asset itself.

What Makes Up Direct Maintenance Costs?

  • Labor: Hourly wages or salaries for maintenance technicians and staff.
  • Materials Consumption: Cost of spare parts, repair components, and supplies.
  • Subcontracts and External Services: Payments to outside vendors for specialized services like inspections, cleaning, routine replacements of filters/fluids, system tune-ups, and calibrations.

Besides these direct maintenance costs, you might also have energy costs or shared company overhead expenses that contribute to overall maintenance spending.

Proč sledovat náklady na údržbu
